I would highly recommend anyone I know to watch this one. There are some unspoken rules for our culture that impact the film story-wise. So, here is some context that I think you should know before watching this film: Thai-Chinese elders usually believe that their male heirs are far better than their female heirs—ironically enough, usually only their female descendants take care of them when they are old. Normally, most of the fortunes would go to their oldest son or any male family member. This message is spoken quietly throughout the whole movie.

Fun Fact: roughly 15% of the Thai population is Thai-Chinese, but almost every family is mixed with many races.
